Scholarships

Scholarships are primarily for majors in Theatre Arts. Incoming and transfer students apply for scholarships through the on-line application portal.

Scholarship Form for Freshmen & Transfer Students 94KB PDF or Word document format. DEADLINE: February 15, 2008. This application is for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Continuing students may print out the Continuing Students Scholarship Application in PDF format or Word document format and turn it into the School of Theatre Arts Main Office by March 14, 2008. This application is for the 2008-2009 academic year.

M.L. Ashton Memorial Scholarship
For outstanding students in the MA program in Theatre Studies or Theatre Education and Outreach and students in the MFA program in Design/Technology.

Baker Theatrical Lighting Scholarship
For students in theatrical lighting.

Bob Burroughs Paint Scholarship
For students entering their senior year in Theatre Arts with superior academic achievement and professional potential. Outstanding Graduate students in the Design/Technology division.

Cajero Hispanic Theatre Scholarship
For an Hispanic undergraduate in Theatre Arts from a Tucson area high school.

Dr. Irene F. Comer Scholarship
For outstanding students majoring in Musical Theatre.

E. Gordon Scholarship
For a Theatre Arts student with outstanding talent and academic ability.

James N. Livieratos Scholarship
For an incoming Theatre Arts major who has attended a Tucson area high school for the last two years.

James N. Livieratos Scholarship
For incoming freshman Theatre Arts majors who have graduated from Tucson area high schools with an outstanding ability in theatre.

Graesser Foundation Scholarship
For outstanding student majoring in Musical Theatre.

Albert Halderman Scholarship
For undergraduate or graduate students participating in performances and/or productions sponsored by the College of Fine Arts.

Pauline Landon Memorial Scholarship
For a Theatre Arts student with financial need and outstanding talent and academic ability.

Arthur Loew Scholarship
For undergraduate or graduate students in acting and/or directing with financial need and outstanding talent.

Peter Marroney Scholarship
For an outstanding graduate or undergraduate student showing outstanding abilities and potential in Theatre Arts.

Lillian R. Rosenzweig Scholarship
For students in Theatre Arts.

Janice Agte Talley Scholarship
For an outstanding junior in Theatre Design/Technology.

Max P. Vosskuler Scholarship
For a Theatre Arts student with financial need and outstanding talent and academic ability.

Bennett Walzer Scholarship
For upper division and graduate students in Theatre Arts who plan careers in production and scenic design.

Thomas C. Barrow Scholarship
For outstanding students in Musical Theatre.

Graduate Teaching Assistantships

Theatre Arts also awards graduate teaching assistantships, which provide students with on-the-job training in the areas of teaching acting, voice and movement, technical production, scene design, costume design, lighting design and theatre history. Students must submit an Assistantship Application (PDF - 38K) directly to Theatre Arts for consideration.
