Message from the Director
I am delighted to share with you information about our academic programs in the School of Theatre Arts at The University of Arizona. We are one of the oldest theatre programs in the nation, and as such, we have been offering continuous theatrical events and training for over ninety years!
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to excellence in the classroom, as well as on and behind the stage. Our excellent facilities reflect the work that we do and provide a wonderful professional environment in which to learn. Our professional training company, The Arizona Repertory Theatre, is strongly supported by the university and the Tucson communities and offers outstanding opportunities for the exploration of American and European theatre, including both classical theatre and musical theatre.
As a potential student facing the all-important decision of which theatre training program you will attend, you are invited to take a serious look at the degree programs offered at The University of Arizona. We offer a brochure that is intended to provide you with a brief overview of our programs; we also offer a dvd that includes a look at our productions and production processes, interviews with students, views into our classrooms, and more. For more detailed information regarding programs, auditions, and admissions, please consult this website. Then visit our campus and investigate the many opportunities in undergraduate and graduate education.
I wish you well in your exploration of theatre training programs, and if we can be of any assistance regarding campus visits, auditions, and application procedures, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Albert D. Tucci, Head
School of Theatre Arts
