Recitals

All students planning to give recitals during the 2006-2007 school year must follow the procedure outlined below. This procedure applies to all student recitals including those performed in classrooms, or off campus. Completed recital forms are necessary for credit for Music 498, Music 915 and Music 925.

SELECTING A DATE:

ALL DATES MUST BE 30 DAYS IN THE FUTURE IN ORDER TO MEET THE REQUIRED PAPERWORK DEADLINES.

To select a date in Holsclaw or Crowder Hall, visit the recital calendar for the dates currently available. This site is book marked on the computer terminal outside the main office in the Music Building Lobby as "available recital dates". If the date is blank, the hall is booked. Because dates and times in the halls fill up quickly, please be prepared to schedule your recital as soon as possible.

To select a date in a classroom, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for availability. Due to class scheduling most classrooms are only available for recitals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

To select a date for a recital to be given off campus, it is the student's responsibility to make all arrangements with the venue. After you make those arrangements you still must complete all of the forms for a required recital. Please inform us of those arrangements as soon as possible so that we can include your information on our calendar.

SCHEDULING PROCEDURE:

  • Once you have selected a date you must fill out an Event Reservation card. The cards are available from the front office and from rooms 116, 118 and 120.
  • Take the Event Registration card to your Major Professor for confirmation of his/her availability on your selected date and venue.
  • AFTER your major professor has signed and you have signed and initialed the reservation card, return it to Deon Dourlein, in Room 118, Mark Brugler, in Room 116 or Matt Bouchard, in Room 116 to book your date. You MUST have a signed reservation card in order to book a recital date on or off campus. You MUST pick up the rest of your recital forms when you turn the card in. You must book your recital date in person. Do not leave recital request cards in the mailboxes.
