Foundations (17 Total Units)

• Mathematics (3 units)
  -Math 105 or Phil 110
• English (6 units)
  -101 and 102, or
  -107 and 108 (international students), or
  -103H and 104H (Honors)
• Second Language (0-16 units)
  -Second semester proficiency for the BM (same as admission requirement)
  -Fourth semester proficiency for the BA

Tier One (18 Units)

• Traditions and Cultures (TRAD)
  -2 courses (6 units)
  -TRAD 101, 102, 103, 104
• Individuals and Societies (INDV)
  -2 courses (6 units)
  -INDV 101, 102, 103
• Natural Sciences (NATS)
  -2 courses (6 units)
  -NATS 101, 102, 104

Note: Tier One course work must be completed prior to taking Tier Two courses. One must focus on gender, race, ethnicity, or non-western civilization. All TRAD 101 courses, or courses designated with a pound sign (#), satisfy this requirement.

Tier Two (9 Units)

  -1 course (3 units)
• Humanities

NB:

• Mid-Career Writing Assessment is a requirement for graduation. This requirement is satisfied by the grade of C or better in ENG 102 or MUS 330B.
• A total of 42 upper division (300 and 400 level) units are required for graduation.
• Senior check must be filed 12 months before graduation.
• Tier One must be completed before Tier Two is begun.
• Tier Two course work must include at least 6 upper-division units.
