The Division of Design and Technology is proud to share our track record with you. Our former students experience ever-increasing success in finding the positions they really want when they leave the School of Theatre Arts. Part of this success is the presence of the Showcase of Talent in the program and the outcome of meeting professionals in that event. Part of their success may be in the way we help them prepare for the ‘real world’. Our former student’s successes are due to their our talent and initiative. We try to help guide that with them.

Our recent undergraduate students have selected to attend graduate school or immediately begin a professional career. Those students who do go on the graduate training programs have go on to outstanding institutions like: Boston University, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Northwestern University, The University of California-Irvine, The University of Illinois-Champagne-Urbana, The University of Indiana-Bloomington, The University of Missouri-Kansas City, The University of Texas-Austin, and Yale School of Drama.

Many former undergraduate students take the same route or former graduate students take, they move to the big city or the second city. At least 20 former students have moved to New York or Chicago for work, and still work regularly, in the last five years. Others have gone to major producing theatres like Cirque du Soleil, The Dallas Theatre Center, The Denver center, The Hartford Stage, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Shakespeare Theatre and Steppenwolf, among others.
